ART OF SURVIVAL (PART 2): AUGUST 12 & 13, 6PM

Dear Meta-House-Friends!

Just before the weekend we like to invite you for our upcoming events - highlighted by next week's double exhibition opening of the ART OF SURVIVAL (PART 2). Cambodian artists Pich Sopheap, Chat Piersat, Chhouen Rithy, Chan Vitarin, Ching Taingchea, Khauch Touch, Koung Channa, Phe Sophon, Kong Vollak and Kvay Samnang reflect on the Khmer Rouge Genocide – accompanied by foreign guests such as Vietnamese-Khmer artist Le Huy Hoang, Bradfort Edwards (USA), Panca Evenblij (Netherland), Ali Sanderson (Australia), Virginie Noel (Belgium) and Herbert Mueller (Germany).

For ART OF SURVIVAL (PART 2) Meta House is partnering with the "Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center". The center (founded by famous film director Rithy Panh) collects and safeguards audiovisual documents about Cambodia in order to open access to the memory and pass it on to the new generations.

At Bophana we will also screen our video documentation of the first AOS exhibition "Cambodian artists speak out: The Art of Survival" (Khmer/Engl.), that has been produced in cooperation with the KONRAD–ADENAUER–FOUNDATION (KAS). The book with the same title will also be available in both locations.

DOUBLE OPENING
1. Tuesday, August 12 @ Meta House, 6 PM (6 street 264, Tel. 012 607 465)
2. Wednesday, August 13 @ Bophana Center, 6PM (64 street 200, Tel: 023 992 174)
