More than 150,000 people live under the threat of forced eviction from their homes and land in Cambodia, including approximately 80,000 in the capital Phnom Penh. Mass forced evictions of local communities are occurring as a result of non-inclusive development, endemic corruption and the absence of rule of law.
The Centre on Housing Rights and Evictions (COHRE) produced CAMBODIA FOR SALE: STOP EVICTIONS (2009, 57 mins) documentary by Nana Yuriko tells the powerful story of communities’ struggle against forced evictions and the community and human rights activists working together with them.
