DOCFEST: THE POISON CLOUDS OF BATTLE
Tambuti Films, directed by Cecile Trijssenaar is portraying the legacy
of chemical war and herbicides called Agent Orange sprayed during the
Vietnam War over the jungles of Indochina (including parts of
Cambodian and Laos) through the United States.

"NICE HAT" by David Brisbin (Canada)
Nice Hat! is an expedition through the life and times of the SE Asian
Kingdom, seen entirely through hats and headgear.
"STRAIGHT REFUGEEZ" by Ian White (Australia). This film focuses on the
so-called returnees: Cambodian convicts, who have been expelled from
the USA.

THE REVIVAL OF KHMER ARTS
"SEASONS OF MIGRATION" by John Bishop (USA) about Sophiline Cheam
Shapiro's contemporary dance piece.
"THE BATTLE TO REBUILD SBAEK THOM" by Chuon Sarin (Cambodia) is about
shadow puppetry after the Khmer Rouge.

THE KHMER ROUGE LEGACY
"KAMPUCHEA: DEATH AND REBIRTH" is the first documentary after Khmer
Rouge, shot by famous GDR filmmakers Heynowski/Scheumann: The scenes
filmed during spring 1979 in Cambodia are part of history. The reports
of the survivors are moving and harrowing. Thanks to Progress Berlin
for letting us screen it.
"LOOKING BACK, LOOKING AHEAD" - 10 Mini Documentaries on Khmer Rouge
History and Reconcilitation by DMC students at the Royal University of
Phnom Penh

"THE UNIVERSAL CHAIR" by Arjay Stevens (Germany) in Gallery Hall and
Mezzanine room.

TUE, 18/03
ARTIST SPECIAL:
"Cambodian Artists design the Universal Chair"
Meta House and Arjay Stevens invited young Cambodian artists design
plastic chairs. The audience shall vote for the best work - and the
winner of this Meta-House-contest gets a prize of 100 USD.

Contemporary Art Exhibition from the Mekong Sub-Region

The Mekong Art & Culture Project with Tadu Contemporary art present
this major traveling exhibition - the first artist/curator
collaboration in the Mekong sub-region - features 32 art works by 20
artists from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, in varied
contemporary media: oil painting, mixed-media, woodcuts, video art,
photography and installation.
