Stop Evictions: Sambok Chap eviction, 1 year anniversary

Dear all,

Following our successful event at FCC, we hope that you will support us for the 1 year anniversary of the forced eviction of over 1000 families from Sambok Chap

Please meet at Housing Rights Task Force, 5.30pm June 6th. (Address: HRTF, #54, Street 306)

I have attached a copy of the petition. Please please can you get as many copies signed and bring it with you on the 6th June.  Thank you.

We believe that it is important to raise awareness about the inhumane conditions to which the former residents of Sambok Chap were subjected and continue to be subjected to one year later at the resettlement site at Andong Thmei.

Your continued support will help us to urge Cambodian authorities to take immediate action to alleviate the humanitarian crisis at Andong Themi and to provide plots of land and public services.  Further more, we need to ensure that Cambodian authorities never again resort to forced evictions and instead adopt a clear policy for resettlement and compensation, which is humane and consistent with the law.

Thank you again for your support and feel free to email if you have any questions.

Phann Sithan
