SAVE OUR NATURE! In November 2009 over 300 guests visited Meta House for
the first GREEN NIGHT in cooperation with “Smart Mobile”. Now we
jointly invite you again for our 2nd ECO-PARTY ON FRIDAY, 29/01, FROM 6 PM
with FREE FOOD, FREE FRUITS, FREE WATER AND A LUCKY DRAW with many green
prizes…

GREEN NIGHT #2 is highlighted by a live music performance of the CAMBODIAN
SPACE PROJECT, presentations by Khmer freedom artist LEANG SECKON & THE
RUBBISH PROJECT, short films and talks with Asian Development Bank (ADB),
participating NGOs and their representatives.

WED, 27/01, 7 PM
OLIVER STONE MEETS GEORGE W. BUSH AT META HOUSE
Due to Oliver Stone’s arrival in Phnom Penh for a lecture series, we are
screening his biographical film (2008, 129mins) on the life of George W.
Bush, one of the most controversial, secretive, cynical, and ruthless
presidents in American history - presented by Florianne Wilde, who holds a
PhD in Film Theory.

THURS, 28/01, 7 PM
SCREENDOCS: STORIES OF THE LIVING AND THE DEAD
Errol Morris’ documentary “MR. DEATH” focuses on Fred Leuchter. This
expert on execution devices was hired by historian Ernst Zundel to "prove"
that there were no gas chambers at Auschwitz (1999, 91mins). Two new Khmer
documentaries by M.E.T.A. film students open the night: SMOT by Neang
(2009, 15mins) and “THREE GENERATIONS” (2009, 15mins) by Lim Seang
Heng, Prum Seila and Borei Sylyvann

GREEN HOUSE EFFECT: BE SMART AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
How do artists perceive climate change? What do filmmakers have to say
about deforestation? How can we all make a difference? Khmer and
international musicians interweave short films, talks and presentations
with performances. Eco-friendly businesses display their products. Plus:
Free fruit and water, surprises and a lucky draw with many green prizes…

SAT, 30/01, 7 PM
MY GAY LIFE: QUEER WORLDS IN CAMBODIA AND TAIWAN
Young reporters from SCY’s “Youth Today” show present the TV feature
“MY GAY LIFE” (6mins. This screening is followed by Chen Hung-I’s
stylish feature film “CANDY RAIN” (2008, 106mins). This romantic drama
combines four intimate, lyrical true stories exploring the range of women
loving women in contemporary Taiwan.

SUN, 31/01, 7 PM
DISTURBING, THRILLING, HILARIOUS, TOUCHING: “AUSTRALIA”
Considered one of today’s most innovative filmmakers, Australian
director Baz Luhrmann tells the story of Lady Sarah Ashley (Nicole
Kidman), an aristocrat who leaves England to follow her husband to
Australia with the intention of selling his cattle station: A myth of
national origin that is disturbing, thrilling, heartbreaking, hilarious
and touching.” (2008, 165mins)
