Cambodian Living Arts @ Edinburgh Fringe

Cambodian Living Arts Master Ieng Sithul and his troupe of young Khmer folk dancers, musicians, and singers are now performing in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival!

This is the first time ever that most of these young performers have had the chance to travel outside of Cambodia; they are one of the strongest classes and terrific, charismatic, and inspiring performers. They've been getting terrific reviews:

http://www.list.co.uk/article/11037-children-of-the-khmer/

Please spread the word, and if you're in the area, please stop by!

Here's some info on details of their show:
http://www.theworldfestival.com/The_World_Festival.html

And you can see photos here. Please come if you can, or help us spread the word. I linked as well to a short video profile on one of our students who is attending Edinburgh. The kids are really performing their hearts out, and need your support!

Be sure to check out the pirate party this weekend and wear your finest ARRRRmani suit.  Ah that was horrible.  I give up on jokes.  But seriously, dress up as a pirate, drink grog, meet fun people, be merry, and don't walk the plank.

Cheers,

-Tim

Edwards (USA), Panca Evenblij (Netherland), Ali Sanderson (Australia),
Virginie Noel (Belgium) and Herbert Mueller (Germany).

For ART OF SURVIVAL (PART 2) Meta House is partnering with the "Bophana
Audiovisual Resource Center". The center (founded by famous film director
Rithy Panh) collects and safeguards audiovisual documents about Cambodia in
order to open access to the memory and pass it on to the new generations.

At Bophana we will also screen our video documentation of the first AOS
exhibition "Cambodian artists speak out: The Art of Survival" (Khmer/Engl.),
that has been produced in cooperation with the KONRAD–ADENAUER–FOUNDATION
(KAS). The book with the same title will also be available in both
locations.
